GENERAL NEWS

Best of luck to the four students who travelled to Edmonton, Alta., June 2 for the National Skills Competition. These four students are: Samuel Gard – electronics, Derek Arsenault – electrical installation, Dawson Richard – small engines, and Marci Wedge – hairstyling. If your child is awarded a scholarship from a university, they must bring proof of the offer to school counsellors, otherwise it will not be announced at graduation. Congrats to Westisle student Degan Hackett as he competed in the 2018 National Bowling Championships and placed first with a personal best score of 209. Way to go Degan! The Medieval Fair was held Friday, June 1, at Bloomfield Elementary. It was a great day for students to teach others about a different time period and share all they learned throughout the semester. Exams are approaching quickly, which means it is more important than ever for students to maintain their attendance. If your child is missing time for whatever reason, please ensure that they inform their teachers beforehand as it is the student’s responsibility to catch up on missed lessons and assignments. Westisle Buskers will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning in the gym from 8:30 until 8:53. There are plenty of activities to try, such as rip sticking, unicycling, juggling, extreme pogo, diablo, and balancing skills.
