Honeywell and StandardAe­ro come forward as Lobster Carnival sponsors

Two more sponsors have come forward, lending support to the 62nd edition of the Summerside Lobster Carnival. Standard Aero, formerly Vector Aerospace – Engine Services Atlantic, and Honeywell announced Tuesday their support for the carnival. The company, first known as Atlantic Turbines Inc., has been part of the Summerside business community for 27 years. The Summerside division currently employs 465 Islanders in the aerospace industry. “StandardAe­ro absolutely loves being part of the city community and province in which, it as a company, has received great support,” said vice president of finance, Mark O’Keefe. Honeywell, has also maintained a presence in Summerside for 27 years. “Honeywell considers the City of Summerside part of its family,” said site manager Steven Yeo. It currently employees over 80 people at its Slemon Park 44,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, Honeywell’s Centre of Excellence for Fuel Controls and Fuel Accessorie­s. Because of its global aerospace business, Honeywell additional­ly impacts the economy of the city in that people coming from around the world to conduct business with the company stay in Summerside hotels, support its restaurant­s and commercial and cultural businesses. Honeywell has a strong sponsorshi­p and volunteer record in community. StandardAe­ro and Honeywell’s carnival sponsorshi­p are serving as a shared team sponsor supporting the Indigo Circus Show at the three-day carnival, July 12 to 14. Indigo Circus, based in western Canada, is a team of performers providing a range of entertainm­ent. There will be two stage shows daily plus roving performers on the grounds.
