Investigat­ing property damage, thefts, impaired driving

The following is a list of some of the noteworthy incidents and investigat­ions undertaken by Prince District RCMP between June 11 and 17 when 135 occurrence­s were investigat­ed by Prince District RCMP.

Window smashed

On June 11 at 9 a.m., East Prince RCMP received a complaint of a smashed window from a building in Slemon Park. The matter is still under investigat­ion.

Vehicles collide in Travellers Rest

On June 11, at 4 p.m., East Prince RCMP attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Travellers Rest. There were no injuries but one vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Teens charged during checkpoint­s

On June 11 at 11 p.m., West Prince RCMP conducted a checkpoint in Tignish. Members checked seven vehicles and issued a seven-day driving suspension to an 18-year-old male. On June 12, at midnight, West Prince RCMP conducted another checkpoint at the corner of Route 12 and Route 150. Members checked eight vehicles which resulted in a seven-day driving suspension issued to a 19-year-old female. Both vehicles were impounded for three days.

Wallet stolen from car

On June 13 at 1 p.m., West Prince RCMP received a complaint from a female indicating that her wallet was stolen from her vehicle while parked on Main Street in Alberton. Her wallet was subsequent­ly found but the money was missing.

Fire on Route 11

On June 14 at approximat­ely 1 p.m., East Prince RCMP responded to a call about a residence on fire on Route 11 in Wellington Station. Wellington Fire Department attended. The cause of the fire was accidental and the family will be displaced for a few days. Nobody was injured.

Truck stolen

On June 14 at 9:40 p.m., West Prince RCMP received a complaint of a theft of a black Ford Superduty pick-up truck. A short time later, the complainan­t notified police that the truck had been spotted near the Mansfield Road in Norway. Police attended the location where the truck was, did not note anyone on scene, and determined no damage was done to the vehicle. The investigat­ion is continuing.
