Thomson earns KRHS honour
It’s been busy year for senior
Callie Thomson took great pride in representing the Kinkora Blazers in P.E.I. School Athletic Association (PEISAA) competition during her years at Kinkora Regional High School (KRHS). Her senior year was no exception. She wore the Blazers’ blue and gold colours in five sports – cross-country, basketball, volleyball, softball and badminton. As a result of her dedication and contributions, the 18-year-old daughter of Tracy and Trent Thomson of Shamrock has been named KRHS’s Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub studentathlete of the month for May. “Callie has a true passion for softball, and has been an integral part of our ladies’ softball team since joining the team in Grade 9,” noted coach Leeann Arsenault. “On the field, Callie is a reliable defensive player at shortstop, and is also able to help out with pitching duties when called upon.” Callie, who was recently named co-recipient of the female athlete of the year award with Madeline Hamill, was also praised for her attitude and team-first approach by her softball coaches. “Callie is an experienced and knowledge softball player that is an asset to her teammates and coaches,” continued Arsenault. “She is always willing to help out the younger players who are new to the game.”

council; grad executive chair; Occupational Health and Safety student leader; student reporter; student wellness committee, and a Canadian Student Leadership (CSL) delegate. Callie plans to study sciences and major in biology at UPEI. Her long-term goal is to become a doctor or dentist.
