The Centre Belle-Alliance has hired a new executive director. Jennifer McPhee, originally from Quebec, took on the role recently.

“Jennifer’s versatility will allow her to be a strength within the staff,” said vice president of La Belle-Alliance Juanita Lewis. McPhee originally began working in the Island’s francophone community with CAP enfants as well as Collège de l’île.

“I am extremely thrilled to have joined the team of the Centre Belle-Alliance. I’m aware of some of the different projects that are currently in motion and I look forward to helping further develop the Centre,” said McPhee.

“Having worn a variety of different hats throughout my career, I believe that my experiences will be an asset and will be reflected in my work in both the administrative and the interpersonal relationship side of things.” McPhee says she looks forward to bringing the Acadian and francophone community of the greater Summerside area together at the centre. McPhee has two sons attending École-sur-Mer, and says she is aware of the importance of French education as well as the difficulties of being a minority community.

“There will be hurdles but these will continue to motivate us to not only keep organizing the same number of activities but to increase the number of activities we will host for all generations in the local area.”
