P.E.I.’s red headed fiddler welcomes Tip ‘Er Back to Emerald

-

Despite being in her 12th year of entertaining audiences and playing with a long list of P.E.I.’s most popular performers, Courtney Hogan hasn’t performed with Tip ‘Er Back. That is, until July 27 when Hogan welcomes the band to her weekly concerts at the Emerald Community Centre. The newly formed band consists of Clive Currie, Allan Betts and Wade Murray who most Islanders might remember from the band Kickin’ Country several years ago. With a harmonic blend of Celtic and traditional music, the entertaining trio is sure to have every foot stomping and every hand clapping during a night of lively music and fiddling. “Clive does one song in particular at his live shows that is unlike anything I have ever seen at a ceilidh before, and I think folks are going to be pretty surprised and impressed with what these guys can do” says Hogan. Hogan is no stranger to knowing what it takes to put on out her own impressive performances. The three-time P.E.I. music award nominee has four of her own CDs – plus a new collaborative disc coming out this summer – is the author of a Ceilidh cookbook, the mainstay fiddler with Fiddlers’ Sons and has been hosting her own ceilidhs for 12 years. To round out the evening, award-winning Island stepdancer Kristen Visser will b take the stage as well. The event takes place at the Emerald Community Centre, with the bar and pub opening at 5:30 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $12 at the door and 50/50 tickets, CD’s and Ceilidh shirts will be available.
