QLIBRARY PROGRAMS

The Athena Community Astronomy Club recently donated a telescope to the Summerside Rotary Library. The Astroscan Millenium telescope can be borrowed from the library for one week with no renewals. Ron Perry from the Astronomy Club will be offering a library program in September for those interested in learning more about the new telescope and astronomy in general. Children starting kindergarten and their families are invited to join us for a special Starting School Storytime on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10:30 a.m. We will be enjoying stories and activities all about starting school. Signing up for a free library card is a great way to start the new school year and support children as they build their literacy skills. The new Bookworms Family Book Club will meet on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. This book club is for children ages five to nine and an older family member (parent, teenage sibling, grandparent, uncle, family friend, etc). Participants will read together, discuss the book at the monthly meeting, and enjoy special activities inspired by the monthly selection. Future meetings will take place on the second Saturday of each month. For more information about services and materials available from the Summerside Rotary Library, visit the library at 57 Central Street in the Inspire Learning Centre, check out our website www.library.pe.ca, check us out on Facebook, or call 902-4367323.
