Dinner tickets sold out, Jeep draw tickets still available
It’s nearly time for the annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event which raises thousands of dollars for equipment for Prince County Hospital.
It’s nearly time for the annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event which raises thousands of dollars for equipment at Prince County Hospital. “Our city is very fortunate to have a hospital that provides a level of medical services second to none,” said Mayor Bill Martin, recently. “Grass Roots & Cowboy Boots has raised millions over the years in support of much needed equipment.” The 1,300-seat event will take place Saturday, Sept. 8, at Credit Union Place in Summerside. Doors open at 5 p.m. for a social. “This event supporting our hospital depends entirely on the generosity of our community, including the City of Summerside. We are so thankful that the city has been able to support us in this way for these past 10 years,” said Warren Ellis, founder and chief organizer of Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots. “We all pull together to support the hospital which is there for us when we need it the most. Donations of every size make the event a success, including some that will benefit the hospital for ten years.” Ticket holders can look forward to a lobster and steak dinner, live auction and musical entertainers throughout the night leading up to the final reveal of the winner of a Jeep Wrangler Sport courtesy of Summerside Chrysler Dodge. Dinner tickets are currently sold out, but tickets for the draw for the Jeep are still available at the PCH Foundation office. All funds raised will support the purchase of much needed medical equipment for the PCH as part of PCH Foundation’s $1.5 million Vital Signs appeal. Included in the medical equipment needs for 2018 is the replacement of the hospital’s main X-Ray room in the Diagnostic Imaging Unit.
