Choir preparing for another successful season

- BY JOURNAL PIONEER STAFF

With September, thoughts return to school, harvest, preparing for winter — and singing. Or at least it does for members of the Summerside Community Choir, who are looking to welcome new members until Sept. 25. Rehearsals for the group are Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church in Summerside. Fans of singing and wanting to join a choir are invited to take the opportunity to attend a rehearsal. No auditions are required. Adults as well as high school students are welcome and students can use their rehearsal time toward the Community Services Bursary award. Doctor Margot Rejskind, acting as the choir director, is already making plans for the Christmas concert which will be held on Dec. 9 at Trinity United Church. Selections from Handel’s Messiah as well as a carol sing-along will be in the program. The choir is entering its 41st consecutive year and has more than 40 members.
