WELCOME!

Welcome to all K.R.H.S. students, especially our new Grade 9 students. We have 150 students plus 14 teachers, three educationa­l assistants, two youth service workers, one workplace assistant, three support staffers, and seven bus drivers.

A warm Blazer welcome to all K.R.H.S. students, and a very special welcome to our new staff: Jo Cullen (School Counselor), Samantha Dawson (Youth Service Worker), Ceildh Gaudet (Educationa­l Assistant), Rodney MacFadyen (Youth Service Worker), Tracey MacMillan (Math), Jocelyn Mullin (Workplace Assistant), and Kirk White (Music & English).

The Student Council Executive for 2018/2019: President ~ Rebecca Green Vice-President ~ Katie Pearce Executive Members ~ Abi Hamilton & Dakota MacWilliam­s Teacher Advisor ~ Kevin Stewart. School Dance ~ The first school dance will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 8 -11 p.m. Pie Fund Raiser ~ The Student Council will be taking on our school’s annual pie fundraiser in October.

ACADEMY DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN AGRICULTUR­E & BIOSCIENCE

Jessica Reeves is in charge of the Academy Diploma Program in Agricultur­e & Bioscience here at K.R.H.S. Sept. 24 - Drive Away Hunger Tour begins - This year the Aggies will once again spearhead the Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger Food Drive with the generous support of all K.R.H.S. students and staff. This year we will be working with the South Shore Food Share which located in Crapaud. Here are the most needed food items: pasta products, rice, canned meats and fish, dry and canned soups and stews, canned fruits and vegetables, flour, breakfast cereal, canned/powdered milk, fruit juices, pasta sauce, beans and legumes, infant formula and baby food.

13th ANNUAL BLAZER BLITZ

The 13th Annual Blazer Blitz Pep Rally, held on Sept. 13 was a tremendous success. Everyone was encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing our school colours, blue & gold. A huge thank you to the Grade 12 students for their efforts, especially our host Brooke McCardle. Students were recognized for their successes both inside & outside of school. The assembly included with a school-wide tug-of-war and our annual staff and student trivia. The K.R.H.S. academic awards from 2017-2018 (for last year’s Grades 9, 10 and 11 students) were also handed out.
