Dobson is the Titan’s 30th captain since the franchise relocated to Bathurst, N.B. Dobson, the 12th overall selection in the 2018 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, is in his third season with the Titan. He was a key contributor to the team’s President Cup and Memorial Cup championships last season, when he was an assistant captain as a 17-year-old. Now 18, Dobson is coming off a strong showing at the New York Islanders’ rookie and main training camps. He registered one assist and two penalty minutes in two National Hockey League preseason games with the Islanders, who assigned Dobson to the Titan on Monday. Acadie-Bathurst drafted the son of Andrew and Jenny Dobson sixth overall in the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft held in Charlottetown. The Titan visits the Charlottetown Islanders on Thursday.
