Joseph David Alan (Douce) Doucette passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericto­n N.B. on the October 3, 2018 at the age of 54. Born in O’leary, P.E.I. to Anita (Martin) and the late Nelson Doucette. He is survived by his wife Dale (McCluskey) Doucette, Daughters Angie (Dana Stairs) St. Onge, Danya (Rob) McPherson and son Davis (Courtney Stone) Doucette and grandchild­ren Bryceson, Avah, Weston, Preston and Kali. Also survived by his mother Anita Doucette, Brothers: Donnie (Shelly) Martin, Doug (Joanne), Danny (Carol Anne), Sisters: Donna Lee (Chris) Doucette-Clark and Darlene (Jason) Poirier. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Debbie (Harvey) Peters, David (Kathy) McCluskey, Edward McCluskey, James (Roslyn) McCluskey, Craig (Yami) McCluskey, Charlotte (Frank) Jensen, Janet (Rick) Hansen, Guy (Donna) McCluskey, Kelly (Arlen) Christense­n, and Lorrie (Scott) Lakin as well as several cherished nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his father Nelson Doucette and Brother-inlaw John Ellsworth. Dave Joined the Canadian Armed Forces 21 Jan 1982 and was released 27 Dec ‘13. His first posting was Aug ‘82 to 1 RCR in London, ON. In June ‘88 he was posted to Lahr, Germany. From there he was posted to 2 RCR, Oromocto July ‘92 and finally posted to LFAATC July ‘11. During his career he completed 3 tours to Bosnia, 2 tours to Afghanista­n, 1 tour to Eritrea and 1 tour to Haiti. Dave loved nothing more in life then his family and friends. He cherished everyone’s visits, fishing, boating, story telling, the laughs and of course was the first to shed a tear with you. In respect with Dave’s wishes there will be no viewing, a Celebratio­n of his Life and time of remembranc­e will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 4 p.m. At the request of the family, please no flowers, for those who wish, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Fund.
