Vitos double Pride Saturday
The Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride split the first two games of a three-game weekend in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.
The Pride edged the Northern Moose 3-2 on Friday night, and lost 4-2 to the Saint John Vitos on Saturday evening. The Pride hosted the Moncton Flyers on Sunday afternoon, but the result of that game was unavailable at deadline time.
The Pride took a 5-4-0 (wonlost-overtime losses) record into Sunday’s contest.

At the Bell Aliant Centre on the UPEI campus, Riley Bezeau (1-1), Drew Elliott (1-1), Dalton Dunn and Caleb Kean scored for the Vitos (6-5-1). Kean’s goal at 4:06 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie. Alex Graham and affiliated player Cole McKeigan countered for the Pride, who received a single assist from Cole Larkin. The Vitos, who outshot the Pride 46-24, held period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
Winning goaltender was Rylan Holder, and Jonah Arbing was between the pipes for Charlottetown.
Pride 3 Moose 2
At the KC Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst, N.B., Keegan Mitchell’s goal at 10:23 of the second period broke a 2-2 tie, and stood up as the game-winner as the Pride improved to 5-3-0. Luke Garnhum and Noah Griffin also scored while assists were earned by Bradley Campbell (2) and Max Chisholm.
Daniel Kahtib (1-1) and Cole Augustine replied for the Moose (1-11-0).
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period.
Arbing made 27 saves while Northern’s Josh O’Neill faced 39 shots.
