Busy Halloween Week at KISH

- BY CHLOE GREENAN STUDENT REPORTER

A busy, Halloween week is upon us with lots of fun events for everyone.

Sunday, Oct. 28: the first concert and jazz band social will be held from 6-10 p.m. This will include a costume competition and a potluck. They hope for an impressive turn out to kick the year off.

Monday, Oct. 29: there will be a concert band practice at 7:15 a.m. in the band room. You can expect to see lots of orange and black outfits around town today as it is orange and black day for the Halloween spirit week. After school, change out of your orange and black and into pink to attend the “Game for a Cure”, hosted by our Senior Women’s AAA volleyball team at 5:30 p.m. This game will be at KISH against Colonel Gray. Tuesday, Oct. 30: another band practice at 7:15 a.m. for all jazz members.

All students are invited to dress in their lazy/comfy clothes to be a part of lazy day in honour of spirit week. At lunch, there will be a Canadian Forces recruiter present for any students thinking they may like to attend. After school, our Grade 10 gym class will be going around the Kensington area to collect food for the food drive. This will be happening at 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31: we hope to see all concert band members at practice around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday also happens to be Halloween!

This means all students may wear their costume to school and have a chance at winning best costume during the fashion show at lunch. Remember, no masks, no weapons, and no tricks. We do accept treats though. Thursday, Nov. 1: most students will be dealing with sore bellies from eating an excess of candy. We wish everyone an easy recovery.

Friday, Nov. 2: senior band class will meet in the band room for 7:15 a.m.

On Friday and Saturday, our Junior Girls AA volleyball team will be playing in provincials at SIS. Good Luck girls #bleedgreen! Saturday morning, Nov 3: our Grade 10 gym class will be doing the second half of their food drive around the Town of Kensington from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Please support KISH in helping to donate to the food bank.
