WRIGHT, MARLENE MARY (NEE ARSENAULT)

The funeral service for Marlene Mary (nee Arsenault) Wright of Summerside, P.E.I., beloved daughter of Freddy and Auldine (nee Poirier) Arsenault was held on Thursday, October 25th, 2018 from East Prince Funeral Home to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside by Father Ignatius Sebastian. The Readings were read by Douglas Cameron and Clifford Poirier. The Gospel was proclaimed, and the Homily was delivered by Father Sebastian. The Prayers of the Faithful were read by her daughter Trudie Ochsner. Hymns sung by members of the church choir were: “Tree of Life”, “Blest are They”, “The Summons” and “Amazing Grace”. Organist was Bethany Dawson. Cross bearer was Irving Arsenault; candle bearers were Benny Arsenault and Rene Richard; incense bearer was Windsor Arsenault and ushers were Sherren Arsenault and Yvonne Gallant. Pallbearer­s were Ricky Wright, Gerard Basten, Duane Wright, Blain Wright, Josh R. Gallant and Clifford Poirier. Interment took place in the church cemetery with Father Sebastian officiatin­g. Arrangemen­ts were entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside. A Fall Zombie Fest Friday in Alberton was so well attended that organizers are already talking about teaming up for a winter event the next time a teacher’s workshop gives students a day off from school.

The Western Region Sport and Recreation Council pooled its resources with the Alberton, Tignish and O’Leary recreation department­s to host the event. Classes were out for a profession­al developmen­t day. Transporta­tion West joined in to provide daytime transporta­tion to and from Alberton for participan­ts from O’Leary and Tignish.

Staff and volunteers helped coordinate a morning of bowling and activities at Hope Centre and an afternoon of outdoor activities at the Old Stone Station Park. Children and youth were invited back to Hope Centre Friday evening for a costumed dance. Emily Arsenault with the Western Region Sport and Recreation Council said organizers were thrilled by the large turn-out and inspired to work together to host future joint events.
