The win capped an undefeated season for the Owls, who went 3-0-2 (won-lost-tied) in the regular season and shut out Queen Charlotte 3-0 in the semifinals. Owls coach Sara Pauptit praised the commitment and desire of her team.

“This is the first team I’ve coached in a long time that was willing to come to practice, work hard and they wanted to learn,” said Stewart. Kensington coach Blair Murphy added, “We were really good in the first half, hit a wall in the second half and in penalty kicks it’s anyone’s game.” Murphy praised the Owls, and noted they were deserving of their victory.
