Who’s in on Summerside City Council

WARD 1: ST. ELEANORS – BAYVIEW

Bruce MacDougall: Incumbent. MacDougall was first elected to St. Eleanors Community Council in 1989 and he has continued to serve since then including a term as Deputy Mayor in 1997.

WARD 2: ST. ELEANORS – SLEMON PARK

Justin Doiron: Doiron lives in St. Eleanors and serves as a firefighte­r with the Summerside Fire Department. As the grandson of Joseph Aubin Doiron, the 22nd Lt.-Gov. of P.E.I. he has a family history in politics.

WARD 3: SUMMERSIDE – NORTH

Barb Ramsay: Ramsay, a provincial government employee for 30 years, has worked in both justice and health sectors. She grew up in Ward 3 and returned to the area to run her business as a rental operator.

WARD 4: CLIFTON – MARKET

Cory Snow: Snow is a school outreach worker for the Island’s department of justice. He also He serves as board president for the Summerside Boys and Girls Club, committee chairman for the Elm Street Elementary School Playground Fundraisin­g Committee and has served as vice-president and board member for Summerside Area Minor Hockey Associatio­n.

WARD 5: HILLCREST – PLATTE RIVER

Greg Campbell: Incumbent councillor for Ward 5. This election marks the end of his first term on council. He also has past experience as a councillor in the town of Kensington where he served as the chairman of the water and sewer commission in the late 1990s. WARD 6: CENTRE EAST – DOWNTOWN

Norma McColeman: McColeman, a long-time serving council woman, is the incumbent for the ward. She was the city’s first female deputy mayor. She recently started her business Women of Worth, which features image improvemen­t programs as well as motivation­al seminars.

WARD 7: GREEN’S SHORE – THREE OAKS

Brian McFeely: McFeely the incumbent councillor for Ward 7. He will be acclaimed as councillor as he is the only candidate registered. During his first term on council he served on a number of committees like the city’s governance, policy and strategy committee, serving with the human resources and legal affairs department and Culture Summerside.

WARD 8: WILMOT

Carrie Adams: Adams has worked as a provincial government employee for 19 years, serving in areas including education, transporta­tion and finance. She also volunteers in the community and acts as a leader in the local minor baseball and hockey organizati­ons.
