A 21-year-old Summerside man has been charged with breaking and entering and police are searching for a second suspect following an incident on Jennifer Street.

At about 4:40 p.m., Tuesday, Summerside Police Service received a call from a woman reporting that her neighbours were telling her there were two men in her apartment. She was not at home at the time.

Police responded and a witness identified a man outside the building as one of the suspects. The suspect bolted and police chased him down.

Tyson Gard was arrested for break and enter.

Police are still looking for the second suspect and ask that anyone with information in relation to this incident call at 902-4321201.

Gard was taken before the court Wednesday where he was remanded into custody. In addition to the break and enter charge, he is also facing charges of possession of break-in instruments which were allegedly found in his belongings that were located during his arrest, along with two counts of possession of stolen property. Gard has also been charged with fraud in relation to a Nov. 12 incident where he allegedly attempted to use several different credit and debit cards at a local convenience store. The cards were declined and the clerk became suspicious and called police. The subsequent investigation showed Gard allegedly did not have permission to have or use the cards.
