Dear, KISH fanatics,

After a fun spirit week, we have a quite calmer week here at KISH. On Monday, Nov. 26: PD Day! No classes today.

On Tuesday, Nov 27: Jazz Band at 7:15 a.m. There will also be an Explorica trip meeting for all students and their parents in Mr .Dyment’s room (243) at 6 p.m. This is for all participants going on the “Liberation of the Netherlands 75th Anniversary” trip happening in May 2020.

On Wednesday, Nov. 28: Concert Band at 7:15 a.m. On Thursday, Nov. 29: Concert/ Jazz Band at 7:15 a.m. Reminder to students to check the Band blog and Remind app for band notifications regarding future events and practices.

On Friday, Nov. 30: Senior band class will meet in the band room for 7:15 a.m.

The past week at KISH was spirit week as well as bullying awareness week. Every day at KISH, there was a song related to kindness played for the first period bell. Students had the opportunity to nominate other peers for kindness prizes. Student council created a “friend web” and placed it in the cafeteria for students to sign at lunch or before class.

The objective of this web was to write your name and then branch it to someone who you consider a friend’s name to show and bring focus to how, as a school, we are all connected and create a special community. Students of KISH could also find a compliment board in the hallway outside of the cafeteria and positive affirmations filled the bathroom mirrors of male and female washrooms all week.

Another campaign began this week – the spiritwear campaign! Forms were handed out first period Wednesday and can also be found in the office. On the campaign, it features a crew neck, sweatpants, a t-shirt, and shorts.

Forms are due back on the Nov. 29 (Thursday) as the order is being placed that day in hopes of merch being back for Christmas. Forms and money can both be handed in to the envelope in the office. Remember: This is a fundraiser for KISH and student council will benefit to help provide for events in the future for all grades.
