Call for submissions for 32nd Cox & Palmer Island Literary Awards
The P.E.I. Writers’ Guild is actively accepting submissions for the 32ndCox & Palmer Island Literary Awards.
Deadline to submit is Feb. 28, 2019 at 9 p.m.
For over 30 years, the Island Literary Awards have recognized the best in Island writing by writers of all ages. Cash prizes are awarded to individuals who place first, second and third in both the adult and young people’s awards categories. Many past award winners are now published authors. For the adult (18+) awards, Islanders are invited to submit works in the following five categories:
- Literature for Children Awards - Poetry Awards
- Short Story Awards
- Creative Non-Fiction Awards - Mary Coyoteblanc Award for Indigenous Writing

The Cox & Palmer Island Literary Awards also include the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty Creative Writing Awards for Young People. Students may write on the topic of their choice and submit in one of four subcategories:

Winners in all categories will be honoured during the 32nd annual awards gala ceremony on May 18.
