P.E.I. RCMP lay methamphetamine trafficking charges following extensive investigation

André Pelletier, 50, of Montreal, Que.; Kevin St-Pierre, 28, of Quebec City; and Rocko Thibault, 26, of Saint-Quentin, N.B. each face charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.
The charges stem from Jan. 24, 2018, vehicle stop by the P.E.I. RCMP as part of an ongoing investigation, with close assistance from the Edmundston Police Force on the highway near Edmundston.
During the search of the vehicle, officers located and seized over 11,000 methamphetamine pills stamped “ICE” or “STAR” weighing about 11 pounds and a small quantity of cocaine.
The methamphetamine pills were packaged for widespread distribution and were believed to have been destined to be sold in New Brunswick and P.E.I. The complementary work of federal and provincial RCMP units across New Brunswick was crucial in completing the broader investigation.
An additional 50,000 meth pills were seized in New Brunswick during another targeted vehicle stop by P.E.I. RCMP officers in the course of the same investigation. Reg Robichaud, 53, of Moncton faces separate charges in that matter.
The investigation is continuing, and further arrests and charges are possible.
