Assaults, graffiti and disturbanc­es among RCMP investigat­ions

Editor’s Note: A total of 69 occurrence­s were investigat­ed by Prince District RCMP between Jan. 7 and 13. The following is a list of some of the noteworthy incidents and investigat­ions:

Alleged sexual assault investigat­ed

On Jan. 7, at around 12:30 a.m., East Prince RCMP received a call of a sexual assault.

A female youth was allegedly sexually assaulted by an adult man.

The man was subsequent­ly arrested, charged and released. He is scheduled to appear in court in late March.

Woman arrested for assault

On Jan. 9, at around 1 a.m., East Prince RCMP were called to a residence in South West Lot 16 where it is alleged that a 31-year-old woman assaulted a 42-year-old man. The woman was arrested, charged, and released on conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court in mid-February.

Museum tagged

On Jan. 11, West Prince RCMP received a report of damage to the O’Leary Potato Museum by way of graffiti. The graffiti is believed to have been left sometime after Jan. 1. The matter is

HL: Domestic assault investigat­ed

On Jan. 11, at around 11 a.m., West Prince RCMP attended a residence in O’Leary, upon receiving a complaint of an inprogress domestic assault. A 37-year-old woman was arrested for an alleged assault against a 35-year-old man. She was later released with conditions and is due to appear in court in February. school is cancelled due to weather, the ceilidh is cancelled.
