Charlotte Murray and Alexa McAllister, who both play in the P.E.I. Bantam A Female Hockey League, will participate in the 2019 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Global Girls Game in Calgary, Alta., on Feb. 16. The 14-year-old Murray is from Summerside, and is currently in Grade 9 at Summerside Intermediate School. She plays defence with the Tyne Valley Tornadoes.

McAllister is a 14-year old forward from Albany, and is in Grade 9 at East Wiltshire Junior High School in Cornwall. McAllister is a member of the East Prince Wildcats.

Hockey P.E.I. female director Jen MacDonald will join McAllister and Murray on the trip as the branch representative.

The 2019 IIHF Global Girls Game events get underway in Calgary on Feb. 15 with the Global Game to be played Feb. 16 at the Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the Calgary Flames.

The weekend will also encompass various team activities, both on and off the ice, for the participating players from all across the country. Travel and accommodations to the event for the two players will be covered by Hockey P.E.I. and Hockey Canada.
