Dunphy seeks Liberal nomination
Former Stratford mayor throws hat in the ring in Stratford-Keppoch
The former mayor of Stratford has announced his intention to seek the Liberal nomination in District 6, StratfordKeppoch. David Dunphy was a former councillor in the town before serving as mayor for the past eight years.
“As part of a larger team, I was able to help address many of the needs of our growing community,” said Dunphy.
“My experience serving the residents of Stratford as their mayor has given me a greater understanding and knowledge of the important issues in my community. I want to bring this passion, knowledge and experience to the legislative assembly of P.E.I. to represent the residents of Stratford-Keppoch.” Dunphy added he wants to continue to advocate for additional school infrastructure, affordable housing and services for our seniors and youth in Stratford.
“On a provincial level, I will work to ensure our communities are strong, vibrant and sustainable,” he said.
“There is much work to do, and I want to be part of the team to make improvements in the lives of residents of Stratford and Prince Edward Island.”
Dunpht and his wife, Donna, have lived in Stratford for the past 35 years where they have raised their three children.
The district’s Liberal nomination will be held on March 5 at the Stratford Town Hall at 7 p.m.
