John Connolly takes Lot 16 Hall
Island artist final performer of Kill the Chill concert series
LOT 16 – An award-winning Islander singer-songwriter is set to take the stage at the Lot 16 Hall later this month.
On March 23, John Connolly will bring his well-known sweet voice, strong songs and engaging stage presence to the hall for an installment of the community’s Kill the Chill winter concert series.
Connolly is the final performer in the hall’s concert series. Rick Sparkes and the Enablers, The Vaudevillian and a Songwriter’s Circle have all been featured.
“This has been an exceptional group of performers. They’ve been so diverse and each one has been a wonderful surprise. Clothing the series with John Connolly is sure to be a big finish,” said Jane Sharpe, a Lot 16 resident who attended the former concerts.
Connolly’s songs have been called a masterpiece. He has released several of his own works, produced albums for other artists and served as a performer, director, musical director and writer in theatre, film, radio and television.
Currently he is teaching voice courses at Holland College’s School of Performing Arts and involved in a number of music and theatre projects in development.
Recent projects include cowriting for Catherine MacLellan’s show “If It’s Alright with You”, playing Dutch Mason in “On the Road with Dutch Mason” and writing music and lyrics for “Marathon of Hope” at Drayton Entertainment.
The Lot 16 Community Hall is located at 38 Ferry Road in Central Lot 16. Tickets for the John Connolly performance are $10.
