NOONAN, John “Philip”
The funeral for John William “Philip” Noonan of Albany, P.E.I., husband of Lorraine (nee Sherry) Noonan, was held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside to St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay where funeral mass was celebrated by Father Ashok Veerabathina with Father Danny Wilson as co-celebrant. The pall was placed by Philip’s sons. The Readings were read by his grandchildren William Keough and Zoey Chapman. The Gospel was proclaimed and the Homily was delivered by Father Veerabathina. The Prayers of the Faithful were led by his son, Andrew Noonan. Members of the church choir sang the hymns “Here I Am Lord” and “Be Not Afraid”. The Responsorial Psalm - “The Lord Is My Shepherd” and the Gospel Acclamation were rendered by daughter Maribeth Noonan, and Offertory hymn “Do You Really Love Me” by granddaughter Molly Murphy. During Communion, Anna Marie Lynch sang “On Eagle’s Wings” with the choir and Philip’s daughters sang “You Are Near”. The song of Reflection was a recording of “Well Done” by The Afters. Farewell song was “Songs of the Angels”. Organist was Joan Gauvin. Cross bearer was daughter in-law Karen Noonan. Altar servers were Tom Sherry, David McKenna and Ron MacDonald. Lay distributors were daughter in-law Stephanie Noonan and sister in-law Helena Hamill. Ushers were Shane Hamill and Darryl Noonan. Parking attendants were Dale Muttart and Paul Murphy. Pallbearers were his grandchildren Sean Philip Noonan, Lindsay Noonan, Nicholas Cameron, Sam Cameron, Jeremy Noonan, Johnathan Noonan, Daniel Muise, Carly Smith, Kevin Noonan and Claire Keough. Flower bearers were Sarah Noonan, Rebecca Cameron, Jessica Noonan, Alicia Noonan and Austin Keough. Also in attendance were Staff of Noonan Petroleum, representatives of Athena Consolidated School, Amherst Cove Consolidated School, Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health, Strait Crossing Bridge Ltd. and Veterans Affairs Canada. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside.
