2020 Vogue Optical P.E.I. 55+ Winter Games set to go Feb. 24-29 with wide variety of events

Deadline to register for event in Summerside is Feb. 10

The deadline to register for the 2020 Vogue Optical P.E.I. 55+ Winter Games is fast approaching as all participants must register by Feb. 10.

The event is being hosted by the City of Summerside, Feb. 24-29.

There is a wide variety of events, including men's and women's hockey, curling, stick curling, darts, Scrabble, crokinole, Auction 45s, duplicate and contract bridge, bowling, cribbage, 8 ball pool, scrabble, pickleball, table tennis and swimming.

Participants are also encouraged to register for a celebration luncheon set for Feb. 27 at Credit Union Place.

The P.E.I. 55+ Games Society is continuing its transportation program for this set of Games. Transportation will be offered to Summerside on Thursday, Feb. 27, with pick-up at the following locations: Tignish Co-op at 6:45 a.m. and Souris Co-op at 7:30 a.m. Additional stops will be scheduled as needed. The Games, which started in Kensington over 20 years ago, provide seniors the opportunity for friendly competition in their regular active and recreational pursuits.
