The funeral for Celina Arsenault, wife of the late Cyril Arsenault, of Tignish Senior Home was held Saturday February 29, 2020 from the West Prince Funeral Home forwarded to St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. John Molina assisted by Rev. Lazaru Panthagani and Rev. Albin Arsenault. Rev. John Molina delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and farewell. The first reading was read by daughter-in-law Marie Arsenault. The second reading was read by niece Julia Doucette. The prayers of the faithful were read by Marie Keefe. The choir sang under the direction of John Gaudet accompanie­d by organist Diane Handrahan. Procession­al hymn was “This Day God Gives Me”. Psalm was “The Lord Is My Shepherd”. Offertory hymn was “Peace Prayer”. Communion hymn was “Like A Shepherd”. Post-Communion hymn was “Immaculate Mary”. Farewell song was “Songs Of The Angels”. Recessiona­l hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. The altar servers were James Hogan, Clarence Gallant, Neil LeClair and Charlie Bernard. Attending the funeral were members of the Tignish CWL who formed an honor guard. Friday evening they had prayers at the funeral home under the direction of Lena Handrahan. The reading was read by Eleanor Handrahan. Also attending were Management, Staff and Residents from the Tignish Senior Home Care Co-op. The pallbearer­s were Paul Doucette, Joe Doucette, Raymond Doucette, Elmer Perry, Lawrence Gallant and Aubrey Arsenault. Interment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
