Tip er Back on stage Monday night

-

The well-known P.E.I. group Tip Er Back and multi-instrumentalist Keelin Wedge are Colleen MacPhee’s headline guests on Monday, March 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Winsloe United Church Ceilidh ((storm date: March 23).

Tip Er Back consists of Wade Murray, Allan Betts and Clive Curie. Murray has been playing bass guitar with these guys since they all played in a group known as Kickin’ Country. He also sings great harmony. Betts, who is a singer and guitar player, has penned many great songs, including And I Owe My Life To You, recorded by Dino Dunsford, which was one of the most requested songs on CFCY Hoedown. Some of his most recent songs, Lazy as a Rope, Good Old Maritimes and Old P.E.I., are sung regularly by the likes of Eddy Quinn and many other popular Island artists. Currie is a multi-instrumentalist, who is right at home with a guitar, fiddle or harmonica. He also sings and gets the whole crowd standing when he yodels.

Wedge, a regular performer at the Winter Series Ceilidhs, adds a blend of instrumentals and vocals. Whether it’s a foot-stomping fiddle tune like Orange Blossom Special or an array of guitar instrumentals, Wedge livens up every ceilidh.

Host MacPhee, who is also a member of the Lady Singers of our Century, will be singing favourite songs accompanied by Wedge and the house band.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available at that time.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. Lunch is served at intermission.
