Scavenger hunt spreads love around Summerside with pasted hearts in windows

- DESIREE ANSTEY

Hearts are popping up in windows across Summerside as a way to help people stay connected while social distancing during COVID-19.

The idea for a communitywide scavenger hunt came from Gwyn Richards, the program co-ordinator for children and youth at Trinity United Church in Summerside.

“Initially, a friend from British Columbia shared the idea of hearts pasted in windows. I thought it was quite clever and that we should give this idea a try around here,” she said.

Richards is asking people to colour, cut or paint hearts in their windows and then try and see how many hearts they can count around the city, with pictures posted to social media.

On Sunday afternoon, she went with her 12-year-old daughter Alina Richards to hunt for hearts.
