BASILICA CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST

This huge stone church sits on one of the highest points in St. John’s, NL. Pictures taken after the terrible fire swept through the city in 1892 show the basilica as one of the few buildings still standing. It is more than 160 years old and is a national historic site offering tours, as well as a church.
