The Panthers win one and lose two

After losing 5-2 to the Ottawa West Golden Knights and 4-2 to the Winchester Hawks, the Embrun Panthers won their Nov. 19 match against the Wesport Rideaus. Their third place in the Martin division is maintained. Panthers 2, Golden Knights 5

On November 16, the Embrun Panthers lost 5-2 to the Golden Knights in their game against the Ottawa West team.

Embrun’s two goals were scored in the first period by Cody McLennan, with help from Sam Wilson and Tristan Whynot and Jeremy Barrie, assisted by Cody McLennan and Jacob Lamont. Between these two goals, the Ottawa West team also managed to put their mark on the scoring board with a goal from Cameron Scrivens. The first period ended 2-1 for the Panthers.

The only goal of the second period was scored early in the period by Cameron Scrivens, assisted by Brad Odam and Conor Witherspoo­n of the Golden Knights. The latter also dominated the Panthers with respect to shots on goal during this period, with 16 shots against 7.

Then, the Golden Knights took advantage, at the beginning of the third period, of a numerical superiorit­y to take the lead 3-2, with a goal by Luke Mulvihill. Cameron Scrivens and, again, Luke Mulvihill each scored a goal, confirming the defeat of the Panthers.

Hawks 4, Panthers 2

The next day, the Panthers had their second straight loss, this time at home against the Winchester Hawks.

In the first period, the Hawks scored three goals in a row, including one on a power play. Christophe Lemay was the author of the first two goals, while Noah Dioszeghy scored the third.

Marc Brosseau then threw the puck into the net, assisted by Jeremy Barrie and Joey Larcher, scoring the first goal of the Panthers.

In the second period Kyle Kuehni of Winchester added a fourth goal to the score of his team. This is the only goal that was counted during the second period.

Then, although the Panthers clearly dominated the shots in the last period, with 15 against 1, only one goal was scored during this period. The author was Noah Johnston, of the Panthers of Embrun, aided by Michael Armstrong.

Rideaus 2, Panthers 5

On November 19, the Panthers faced the Wesport Rideaus at the Embrun Arena and came out winners of this confrontat­ion.

Adam James of the Rideaus opened the scoring within five minutes of the start of the first period. Two goals were then scored on the Panthers’ side by Andrew Burke, assisted by Jeremy Barrie and Frederik Lafleche, and Michael Armstrong, on a pass from Marc Brosseau.

The only goal of the second period was counted by Andrew Burke, assisted by Jeremy Barrie and Noah Haymes, giving the Panthers a 3-1 lead.

Ty Nicholson of the Wesport Rideaus scored in the second minute of the third period.

Then, at the end of the period, Noah Haymes, assisted by Sam Tremblay, and Cayden Martin, assisted by Micheal Armstrong and Jeremy Barrie, each took advantage of a power play to score the last two goals of the Embrun Panthers.
