The Sentinel program
The Bagotville chaplaincy team has launched a campaign to promote the Sentinel program and raise awareness for Base personnel. The premise of this program is described in an interview with Major Stéphane Moisan, a Bagotville chaplain currently deployed in Kuwait. Major Moisan is a specialist in this peer support program.
"The Sentinels program is a buddy system. The program provides training to better detect if a person is in distress. It also provides listening skills, exercises and in- formation on resources available for those in need "says Padre Moisan. "The Sentinel is a program run by chaplains, health services and any other group that would like to participate. The Sentinels become the eyes and ears of chaplains, health services and other organizations." Interested candidates should follow the Sentinel training program. Training lasts about 2.5 hours. To register for this training, individuals should contact their unit chaplain or the base chapel.
