911 direct call

Changes have been made recently to CFB Bagotville's land line network in order to better aid those in need of emergency services. When previously you would have had to press 7 before 911 to call emergency services, the 7 has now be eliminated from the process. Now you must dial 911. "It's simpler. Now, everyone can easily reach emergency services. Even civilians who do not know how the base works can instinctively do so because of uniformity. Everyone knows about 911, it has become a norm almost everywhere in the world, "says Captain Adrien Côté, Chief of Military Police in Bagotville. Upgrading the emergency call service also allows the dispatcher to contact the person requesting assistance and is now able to locate where the call originated from. As for the Residential Housing Units, they are still under the jurisdiction of the emergency services of the City of Saguenay. However the two services are able to contact each other very quickly, if need be, in order to assist any person in danger as soon as possible.
