LCol Mallet share his experience of humanitarian help

LCol Francis Mallet of 2 Wing took part in a symposium on humanitarian aid organized by the students of the Center for International Studies and Research of the University of Montreal ( CÉRIUM) on January 25th. This symposium aimed to take a different look at humanitarian aid by questioning the militarization, interference and politicization of this support to communities in need. "It was a very rewarding experience. As a military, it is important to explain what our role is in humanitarian missions. Our role is to stabilize the environment and make it safe enough for NGOs to come to the aid of the people, "says LCol Mallet, who has also participated in field missions, including one in Nepal. "It's comforting to meet smart, trendy youth who are interested in what we do," concludes LCol Mallet.
