Athletes’ Lunch

To highlight the performance of some athletes and the involvement of other members of CFB Bagotville, the PSP Sports Team held the Athletes’ Lunch on April 18th. Colonel Darcy Molstad, the commander of 3 Wing and CFB Bagotville, gave five soldiers a small souvenir for their achievements to mark the occasion. Cpl Alexandre Boulé was named the male athlete of the year for his outstanding performance in running and triathlon. The women's athlete of the year award went to Cpl Kaithlin Baskerville, who plays several sports, including basketball, volleyball and soccer. MCpl Steeve Picard was named coach of the year for his work with the base badminton team. Sgt Bernard Lachapelle was chosen as the official of the year. Sgt Lachappelle referees in ice hockey and ball hockey. Finally, Cpl Julie Desaulniers, the governor of Bagotville's women's softball team, was chosen for her involvement and dedication to the sport. All of these local winners will be nominated to the Air Command for the Canadian Armed Forces National Sports Awards Gala in the fall.
