Man faces charge of assault with weapon

A man has appeared in court after an incident Friday in which a bladed weapon was produced.

On Friday at about 10:20 p.m., police were called to the 2700 block of Winnipeg Street after a man threatened five people.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been striking the outside wall of a building with a machete.

Alexander Leigh Taylor, 20, of Regina is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

He made his first Regina provincial court appearance Monday.
