A Regina man has been charged following a string of thefts at the University of Regina. Over the past few months the Regina Police Service had received several reports of thefts, mainly of electronics from buildings on the U of R campus. After investigation, the RPS Property Crimes unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 1300 block of Athol Street on Thursday night. Numerous stolen items were found in the residence along with keys for rooms on the university campus. Thirty-year-old Joseph Robert Ronald Bonnenfant was arrested without incident and is facing nine charges of break enter and commit, trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and 10 charges of fail to comply with undertaking. He made his first appearance in court Friday. Bonnenfant was not an employee of the U of R, according to a university spokeswoman.
