Project Child Recovery session starts Friday

-

The YWCA’s Project Child Recovery (PCR) is a free support group for children ages six-12 who have experienced a traumatic event or been exposed to family violence, grief, substance abuse, bullying, etc.

The next session of PCR starts Friday and runs every Friday from 1–3 p.m. for eight weeks.

In the session, children and teens learn skills to deal with what they’ve experienced and work toward recovering their youth. Pre-registration is required.

The groups are fun, imaginative and full of discovery. Children and teens learn self-acceptance, coping strategies, safety planning, how to enhance their self-esteem and about their support systems.

The camps are facilitated by qualified professionals.

Snacks are provided and transportation can be arranged for those who may need it.
