PBA plates two more wins

The Prairie Baseball Academy posted a pair of road wins Monday.

The PBA were in Calgary to face the Dinos during Canadian College Baseball Conference action, winning a double header 9-2 and 10-3.

With the wins, the PBA improves to 10-1 on the season.

In the opening game Monday, Tanner JessonDalt­on threw six inning for Lethbridge, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out seven.

The run support came early as the PBA opened up a 7-0 lead after four innings as right fielder David Leblanc — hitting leadoff — went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Designated hitter Eric Davies went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while shortstop Dylan Borman chipped in with two RBI, going 1-for-4.

The PBA capped off the double-header win with a 10-3 decision.

Lethbridge got off to a quick start with four runs in the first, but the Dinos’ bats also went to work with three runs in their half of the first.

But the PBA added two runs in the second and third innings for an 8-3 lead.

They added another run in the fifth and eighth innings to round out the scoring, pounding out 11 hits along the way.

Left fielder Dalton Wells led the PBA at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while catcher Tyson Abbott was 2-for-4 with one run scored.

Centre fielder Brett Brittany was 2-for-5 with one run scored.

Carter Witbeck and Davies each put up two RBI for Lethbridge.

Greg Hollman earned the win for the PBA, tossing six innings and allowing three runs on two hits, walking three and striking out nine.

The PBA returns home this weekend for a four-game set against the Okanagan College Coyotes Saturday and Sunday at Lloyd Nolan Yard.

Game times Saturday are noon and 3 p.m., while Sunday’s games to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
