• University of Lethbridge will present Culture Vulture Saturdays, featuring “Futuristic Compositio­ns” May 6 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the University Centre for the Arts Atrium. Visitors to Culture Vulture will be encouraged to look forward and picture the future with a photomonta­ge. • The Taka Karate School annual demonstrat­ion will take place May 7 at 2 p.m. at the University of Lethbridge main theatre. Tickets are $5 per person, available through the Taka Karate School (403-327-5551) or at the university immediatel­y prior to the demonstrat­ion. Part of the proceeds from the demonstrat­ion will be donated to Youth One and the Birds of Prey Centre.

This meeting is being held in the afternoon to try to attract some of the shut-ins and ladies who don’t like to drive at night; the auxiliary’s numbers are slowly dwindling and its members would hate to see the L.A. fold. • FoodFit, a free program combining classes in nutrition and fitness, begins its next 12-week series of classes in May, running Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. starting

Practice,” a talk by Maya Ichikawa, will be presented May 13 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, 470 40 St. S. Open to the public; free admission. Maya will talk about the scope of art therapy and how it is effective with community groups and a wider audience, going beyond the individual therapy session.
