MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

Simba is a good looking orange and white boy, who was born in 2016 and came to the Humane Society this spring. Simba likes people a lot, and is very snuggly. He doesn’t like other cats as much as he likes people, and occasionally gets into tussles with his roommates. Mostly he keeps to himself, exploring and visiting the volunteers.

If you are interested in meeting Simba, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). Alone. Most of us dislike being alone. Oh, we’ll take a break from everyone, even good friends, but most of us want to belong, and have friends, especially that one best friend. Noah is alone. He’s a few months shy of his third birthday, a beautiful black and brown medium haired tabby, and he’s alone. Oh, he has company, a caring and considerate foster-family, but he misses the feeling of belonging. His close pal, Channing, was recently adopted and, though his fosterguardians do a wonderful job, Noah is lonely. Why is he still waiting for his chance? He's very friendly, purrs easily — especially during a gentle neck-rub — and loves company. He is curious, an explorer; fit and active, he enjoys play-time — which is whenever the fancy strikes him. So why is Noah alone? Because he just hasn’t met that special someone yet. Find out more about him by calling PAW at 403-328-6700, or fill out an adoption inquiry at

www.pawsociety.com. Help this cutie belong at last — perhaps to you.

The Last Chance Cat Ranch has some wonderful cats available for adoption. All are fully vetted and then some. Many have had to have dentals and additional care. Elton is a special boy who came into rescue in pretty rough shape. He is doing well now and patiently waiting for his forever home. If you missed today’s monthly bottle drive, please call or message us for next month. Our bottle drives are on the first Saturday of each month, unless it is a long weekend, when we wait until the following Saturday. Our bottle drive revenue assists us with purchasing food and litter for the 41 cats in our care.

We would like to acknowledge the support that we receive ongoing from the Lethbridge PAW Society who assist us with the adoption of our cats. Brody, Mitsy and Squeaky Peeps are also grateful for their help. We are also pleased to say that Trinity has a pending adoption. Mark June 5 and 6 on your calendar to drop off gently used items to the Fish and Game Hut in Kinsmen Park for the joint garage sale with LCCR and the PAW Society which continues all week inclusive to June 9. We rely on community support as all of our revenue is through fundraising and donations. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts and for helping homeless cats in our community.

Soleil is a permanent resident of Purrfect Endings Rescue. Recently, she was taken to the vet for what was thought to be a urinary tract infection. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bladder stone and Soleil underwent surgery to have it removed. She also had one tooth pulled. She is expected to make a full recovery with a very slim chance of a reoccurring stone. Our account is very high and we are in desperate need of donations to help pay it down. No amount is too small. Donations can be made to Green Acres Animal Hospital (403-327-8660) or call Linda (403-3819269) or Sam (403 382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information. We are also on Facebook. We will be at the Children's Festival from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. today. Thank you so much to Jackie and her staff at the Exhibition for supporting our rescue efforts.

Carlos is a five-year-old Chihuahua cross. He is happy and confident. He loves to go for walks and is very happy to entertain himself with every sight and smell you pass. Carlos is the kind of dog that is happy doing whatever you want. He has the energy and stamina to keep up with almost anyone. He is quiet in the house and is housetrained as well as crate-trained. He loves to play fetch and is great at returning the toy directly to your hand or lap.

Carlos doesn’t know a lot of obedience commands (his foster home is working on that!) but he’s not very high-maintenance despite that. He loves food and is a fast learner so we know he’ll have the house rules memorized in no time. Carlos is great with other dogs but he would do best in a quieter household with no children. Call 403-3593139 for more information on the adoption process, fees or volunteering. Visit www.windycityrescue.com.
