The Prairie Baseball Academy has improved to 3-0 at the Canadian College Baseball Conference Championship.

The PBA plated some early runs on their way to an 11-3 win over the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack during Day 2 action Thursday in Kelowna.

Lethbridge hammered out a 5-0 lead after two innings before the WolfPack answered back with a pair of runs in their half of the third to cut the lead to 5-2.

But the PBA put up four more runs in the bottom of the third for a 9-2 lead.

Thompson Rivers University added one more run in the top of the fourth inning, but that’s as close as they got as Lethbridge added another pair of runs in the fourth inning to round out the scoring.

After a strong 2-0 opening day Wednesday, the PBA’s Austin Schibler continued to wield a hot bat, hitting his third home run of the tournament with a three-run shot in the second inning, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBI. He is now batting .545 on the week.

Two more Lethbridge batters had multi-hit games as the PBA counted for 11 hits.

Eric Davies was 3-for-5 with one run scored and two RBI and designated hitter Tyson Abbott went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Catcher Carter Witbeck also had two RBI in the winning cause.

Nikolas Cardinal earned the win on the hill for the PBA, coming on in relief for starter Rhett Feser and throwing two and one-third innings, allowing one hit and one run, walking two and striking out three.

The PBA is back in action tonight as they face the Okanagan College Coyotes (0-1) at 7:30 p.m.
