HIGH-RISE RESCUE
Lethbridge firefighters access a resident on the fifth floor of the downtown Landmark Apartments through the balcony patio door for a non-urgent medical call on Friday morning. The resident had a dead-bolt lock on the door. Because it wasn’t an emergency, firefighters tried an alternate way to gain access rather than breaking down the door. It was the first time they tried this means of access. Afterwards, they tested the ladder to see how high it could reach (ninth floor) for use in any future incidents.
