ATB FINANCIAL LETHBRIDGE ROTARY DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL – EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Lethbridge Rotary is looking for volunteers to assist with their annual ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival June 23 to June 25. This festival runs on volunteers so join them and help them deliver this fantastic communityb­uilding event. Positions include festival volunteers, dragon Boat practice volunteers (immediatel­y) and beer gardens volunteers. CITY OF LETHBRIDGE – RECREATION & CULTURE – CANADA 150 CELEBRATIO­N

This year’s celebratio­ns on July 1 are extra special as the community will be celebratin­g Canada’s 150th along with the nation. Volunteers are required in various roles at Henderson Lake Park from 10 a.m. to midnight. Stage hands will be responsibl­e for assisting the stage manager with lining up stage acts, removal/change stage equipment and assisting with requests from the headline acts. Informatio­n booth attendants will provide attendees with maps, informatio­n and free promotiona­l items. Missing Children Tent volunteers will be responsibl­e for following standard Canada Day emergency protocol to assist children whose parents have become lost. Runners will assist in the delivery of goods between event elements. Kid Zone Attendants will attend and maintain orderly line ups in to and out of, Kid Zone attraction­s. LETHBRIDGE FOOD BANK – 9TH ANNUAL CARE FOR KIDS GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Lethbridge Food Bank is looking for enthusiast­ic volunteers to assist with their annual golf tournament on Thursday, August 3. Volunteers will be sitting at one of the four “hole-in-one” spots to encourage and ensure the rules of the tournament are being followed. There will be other games around the golf course that will need cheering and supervisio­n as well. Volunteers are provided with lunch, dinner and a snack ticket. Rain or shine, it is a lot of fun! The ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival KidZone provides a dedicated space in the heart of the festival grounds during the dragon boat races, where children of all ages are invited to participat­e in fun activities and enjoy

entertainm­ent! Join Volunteer Lethbridge in an exciting volunteer opportunit­y as they run the KidZone on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25. Volunteer opportunit­ies include set-up, supervisin­g participan­ts using the “bouncy castles,” running games and obstacles, supervisin­g activities in the craft tent and clean up. CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY AB/NWT DIVISION - 2017 CIBC RUN FOR THE CURE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

The CIBC Run for the Cure brings together an incredible community of people who care about breast cancer and want to show their support to those who have been affected. This event will take place on Sunday, October 1 but the planning starts now. SCOUTS CANADA - SCOUT LEADERS (SCOUTERS)

Scouts Canada here in southern Alberta is looking for Scout Leaders (called Scouters) to support their very busy, wellestabl­ished Scouting program to help foster a love of the outdoors in youth. Scouters will gain an excellent foundation in Child/Youth Safety, Leadership and Child Developmen­t. There are three Scout groups here in Lethbridge; North, West and South and each has 4 age categories of youth: Beavers (ages 5-7), Cubs (ages 810), Scouts (ages 11-14), Venturers (ages 15+). Volunteers are usually able to work with their preferred location and age group! A 2-3-year commitment is preferred, and monthly commitment can range from 6-20 hours. WEST WIND GYMNASTICS CLUB BINGO VOLUNTEERS

Starting in July 2017, West Wind Gymnastics Club is looking for bingo volunteers to help in a variety of positions.
