• Fort Whoop-Up will present: July 8, 1-2 p.m., Saturdays at the Fort family program. Admission fees apply; admission includes a compliment­ary wagon ride.

• Settler Days in Coaldale will continue July 8-9. Festivitie­s include the popular Candy Parade July 8 at 11 a.m. Other events include a barbecue, craft/market fair, cribbage tournament, Kids Zone, hay rides, pancake breakfasts and much more. • The Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) will hold a special opening for Settler Days on July 8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Most clothing and shoes at $2. Household items very reasonably priced. Cash only. Come and browse.

• The Dutch Canadian Club will celebrate the “King’s birthday” as held in Holland with a Dinner and Dance July 8 at the new Southern Alberta Ethnic Associatio­n building, 421 6 Ave. S. Featuring threecours­e meal, followed by dancing to the music of The Noteables. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. $20 for members, $25 for non-members. • Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group meets the second Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. in Room C and D at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Trigeminal neuralgia is a neuropathi­c disorder characteri­zed by episodes of intense pain in the face, originatin­g from the trigeminal nerve. Individual­s with TN and their family members are invited to attend meetings. • Narcotics Anonymous meets Sundays at 7 p.m. at Chinook Meeting Hall, 408 13 St. N. • Vacation Bible School will take place July 10-14 from 9 a.m.-noon at Trinity Reformed Church, 1100 40 Ave N., featuring Maker Fun Factory, an imaginativ­e, impacting adventure for ages entering Kindergart­en through entering Grade 6. • The Rotary Club of Lethbridge East will meet for dinner July 11, 18 and 25 in the Saddle Room at the Exhibition grounds, south entrance. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., meeting at 6:30. Buffet dinner is $20 or you can opt out for free. Everyone is invited to visit and see what Rotary is all about. Rotarians the world over come up with ways to help make communitie­s both locally and globally a better place one project at a time.

• Sunrise Village, 1730 10 Ave. S., will host music by Boyd Low July 12 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on will offer Morning Exercises and Activities Wednesday, July 12-Aug. 2 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Participan­ts with limited mobility, arthritis and other health-related issues will benefit from this program, but everyone is welcome. Participan­ts will work on strength and flexibilit­y, within limitation­s. Options for sitting or standing will be given. Exercises will be approximat­ely 30 minutes, followed by active games with modificati­ons for those who would like to stay. $10 for LSCO members, $15 for non-members. • The 15th annual Bon Odori Japanese Dance Festival will take place July 15 at 6 p.m. at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Sponsored by the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, it will be a festive occasion with traditiona­l Japanese dress, food, music and dancing. All who attend are invited to join the circle of dancers and participat­e in any or all of the dances. If you want a head start, you’re welcome to the last practice July 10 at 6:30 at the temple, 470 40 St. S. • Jazz ‘n’ Celtic, A Concert will take

place July 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Waterton United Church, 108 Clematis Ave. in Waterton, featuring classical guitar by Dale Ketcheson, violin, accordion and keyboard by Lori Williams-Freeman, percusson by Joe Porter and vocals by Sheena Lawson. • London Road Gardens Tour will take place July 22 from 1-4 p.m., featuring six of London Road’s most interestin­g and beautiful gardens. • Great Canadian Plains Railway Society will present a unique event celebratin­g Canada’s 150th at Galt Historic Railway Park near Stirling, offering a opportunit­y to “Ride the Rails”

July 22 and July 29 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tour the station and ride the rails, cross the internatio­nal border as it was in 1890. It will also be offered Aug. 19 and 26 (weather permitting). Cost is $10 per person. Children must be accompanie­d by an adult. Bring your lunch and enjoy the picnic shelter. • Harambee Grandmas, the Lethbridge Chapter of the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothe­rs to Grandmothe­rs Campaign, will present their next Travel Chat July 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Casa’s ATB Financial Community Room, 230 8 St. S., featuring the Caribbean. Join adventure traveller Joanna Fraser to explore sights both on and off the beaten path in Dominica, St. Lucia, and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean. Free admission; donations welcomed.

• The Windy Castle Medieval Faire will take place July 29-30 at Coyote Flats Pioneer Village south of Picture Butte on Highway 843. Variety of events and activities including jousting, battles, archery, falconry demos, bouncy castles for children and adults, a hay bale maze, a medieval feast, puzzles, costumes, carriage ride into the coulee, games tent, children’s crafts, vendors and artisans. Faire passes available through the website at www.windycastl­e.com. Early-bird passes for adults $15 for one day or $25 for both; for youths 11–17, $5 per day; children 10 and under free. After hours on July 29 there will be an evening of jousting and feasting with a seven-course meal catered by LA Chefs. Tickets are also available on the website for $75.

• Lethbridge College offers an assortment of summer camps to keep children busy during July and August. Options include everything from Character Animation youth camp to the Totally Dance Fusion camp to Culinary Boot Camps that makes kids comfortabl­e in the kitchen; a Renewable Energy youth camp to the Totally U G!rl summer camp for teens and tweens; to a large selection of athletic camps run by the Lethbridge College Kodiaks and the Alberta Sport Developmen­t Centre Southwest; and much more. There is also a separate Health Sciences Career Academy for high school students interested in a career in health care. • Volunteer Lethbridge Project Paintbrush is operating for another summer. The program organizes volunteers to paint exterior projects for seniors and people who are physically or financiall­y unable to complete the work themselves. Homeowner applicatio­ns are being accepted, and volunteers and sponsors are also needed.
