Canada faces Sweden today
Canada’s National Junior Team hopefuls — including Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender Stuart Skinner — continue their 2018 World Junior Summer Showcase today in Plymouth, MI.
The Canadians are in action today at 11 a.m. as they take on Team Sweden. The game will be televised on TSN.
Team Canada is coming off a 6-5 win over Finland on Wednesday.
Canada’s National Junior Team hopefuls opened up the Sport Chek Summer Development Camp with a pair of split-squad games against the United States Tuesday.
Canada came away with a 1-1 decision in the tournament openers with Team Canada White defeating Team USA Blue 2-1, while Team Canada Red fell 8-2 to Team USA White.
In the Team Canada White 2-1 win over Team USA Blue, Jordan Kyrou of the Sarnia Sting and Robert Thomas on the London Knights were the Canadian goal scorers.
Michael DiPietro of the Windsor Spitfires and Carter Hart of the Everett Silvertips split the goaltending duties.
In Canada’s 8-2 loss to Team USA White, Skinner and Dylan Wells of the Peterborough Petes combined for 23 saves as the U.S. outshot Canada 31-24.
