• The Lethbridge Association of the
Blind (LAB) provides numerous activities for the blind and visually impaired in the Lethbridge area. Some of these include dinners with entertainment, attending musicals at the Yates Theatre and tours of local museums. The association also runs a bowling league which takes place weekly at the Holiday Bowl. • The Galt Museum’s Summer Family Fun hands-on-history program for families continues Aug. 8 from 1-3 p.m. with “Videos, Games and Popcorn!” Join Taren Hager from the Oldman Watershed Council to explore how kids and families can have fun while helping protect the environment. • Scarlet through the Ages, a gala to recognize the significance Fort Macleod and the RCMP have had on the road to Canada’s 150th anniversary, will be held
Aug. 19 from 4 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Fort Museum of the NWMP and First Nations Interpretive Centre, 219 Jerry Potts Blvd. in Fort Macleod. The event will feature a special performance of the Musical Ride, Fort Macleod’s first Sunset Ceremony led by the NWMP Commemorative Association, and a live band. Guests will have their choice of roast beef and/or a buffalo stew for dinner as well as access to a cash bar. Guests are encouraged to wear Victorian/Edwardian clothing.
