FAMILY CENTRE SOCIETY - SURVEY ASSISTANT AND FLYER DISTRIBUTOR VOLUNTEERS
Family Centre is looking for volunteers to join staff as they navigate the community and collect brand recognition surveys on
Aug. 14-16. They are also looking for volunteers to canvas Copperwood with Family Centre West Open House flyers Aug. 24-25. Familiarity with the Cooperwood area would be an asset but not necessary. Shifts available in two- to four-hour segments between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Volunteers in either of these roles will be outgoing and comfortable talking to community members and engaging them. INTERFAITH FOOD BANK – ‘PICK ROOM’ SET-UP VOLUNTEER
In this ongoing position volunteers help set up and stock the shelves in the
Client Intake “pick room” at the Interfaith Food Bank. Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring the shelves and refrigerator are organized and neatly stocked as well as light sweeping and wiping of the room. Shifts are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Volunteers must be dependable and capable of comfortably lifting up to 10-15 pounds on occasion. NORD-BRIDGE SENIOR CENTRE – BINGO VOLUNTEERS
Nord Bridge Seniors Centre is look for volunteers every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Winners Bingo to

YWCA LETHBRIDGE DISTRICT- HIDDEN TREASURES ORGANIZER AND DONATION SORTER VOLUNTEERS
These ongoing volunteer positions at the YWCA take place with the Hidden Treasures donation program designed to help women and children obtain free basic needs such as clothing, personal items and household items. As an organizer, volunteers will organize items brought in from the community and maintain the program
centre. Volunteers may be asked to sort in the event that the donation centre is full. Sorter volunteers are needed to organize and sort through donations, and display them in a store-like atmosphere. CHILDREN’S WISH FOUNDATION GIANT PUMPKIN FESTIVAL - CASINO VOLUNTEERS
Children’s Wish Foundation Giant Pumpkin festival is looking for volunteers
to help at their casino on Sunday, Aug. 13 and Monday, Aug. 14. Positions include General Manager, Banker, Cashier, Chip Runner, Count Room Supervisor and Alternate General Manager. Shifts are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Volunteers must arrive 15 minutes prior to shift, should bring a sweater and a hobby (book, knitting, etc.) to do when not busy. THE LETHBRIDGE THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION - THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSISTANT
The Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association is looking for volunteers to lead horses for therapeutic classes, prepare horses for classes and provide emotional and physical support while riding to a person with special needs. Therapeutic Riding Assistants should have compassion and understanding for people with special needs and be comfortable working closely with horses. BLANKETS FOR CANADA - KNIT & CROCHET VOLUNTEERS
Blankets For Canada has an ongoing need for volunteers to knit or crochet eight- or nine-inch squares or
strips (70 inches long) to be made into blankets. These can be dropped off at Southminster United Church on Thursdays between 10 a.m. and noon, or at Michael’s craft store at Park Place Mall. Volunteers to help join the strips/squares also greatly appreciated! Joiners meet 10 a.m.-noon on Thursdays at the West entrance of Southminster United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue).
