Faber leads Davis Invitation­al

The final of the Davis Automotive Group Men’s Invitation­al takes the tee box at the Lethbridge Country Club today.

As the three-day tournament heads into the final day, some impressive numbers have already been carded, one tying a course record.

On Sunday, James Faber fired a round of 65, tying the course record.

That total follows a round of 73 Saturday and puts Faber up five shots over Mike Mezei, who has shot 70 and 73 Saturday and Sunday, respective­ly, for a 143.

Though he trails Faber in the overall leaderboar­d, Mezei remains atop the standings in the Mens’ Division, Flight 1, two shots up on Cameron Powell and six up on Darin Bertschi.

In the Men’s Division Flight II, Faber remains is atop the standings. Marc Taylor and Rob Bauer are tied for second at 152 and Lachlan Spriddle is one back at 153.

Dean Meppem and Trevor Kruger are also in the mix at 155 after two days.

In the Men’s Division Flight III, Perry Rasmussen leads the way at 154.

Garrett Varga and Collin Toews are second and third with scores of 159 and 162, respective­ly.

Stephen Paterson leads the Men’s Division Flight 4 standings with a two-day total of 154, six up on Chris Smith.

Keith Heyburn’s score of 165 has him sitting in third.

In the Men’s Division Flight 5, Dallas Loewon is in first with a 162. Travis Asplund is second at 166 and Pat Coady is in third with a total of 168.

Sean MacLean tops the Men’s Division Flight 6 category, just ahead of Dean Weik and Daryn Rude.

In the Men’s Division Flight 7 Glenn McCray leads with 184, while Brian Berlando is two back. Scott Davis rounds out the topthree with 190.

Terry Fisher leads the Senior Men’s Division Flight 1 with a score of 155, while Jeff Warren (156) and Rod Bollinger (158) are also in the top-three.

Dennis Brown is first in the Senior Men’s Division Flight II with a two-day score of 157, just ahead of Iain Robertson (161) and Doug Grenier (162), while in the Senior Men’s Division III Gary Mason (167), Nick Papp Jr. (168) and Larry Hughes (178) make up the top-three.

Brian McEachern and Moe Manyfinger­s share the lead in the Senior Men’s Division Flight 4 with scores of 183. Len Cheryk is three shots back at 186.
